Mike's Story
Michael Mazucci-Mambala is originally from Brooklyn, New York. He joined the United States Air Force after high school and served as a meteorologist until his retirement in 2012. He then decided to chart a new path and pursue a career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a LCSW, he has gathered significant experience treating substance use disorders as well as psychological trauma. Not only does he bring this experience to the therapy he provides, he brings experience and knowledge to treat people who experience the unique circumstances as LGBT+ members of society. He provides treatment with compassion, empathy and with a gentle touch unique to those who understand and treat people who have been traumatized.
Michael will meet his clients where they are and has successfully helpes people who distrust or are afraid of working with male therapists feel at ease in session. His life experience as a military retiree informs his approach with veterans and active duty troops, as he has been exposed to the cultures of all military service branches. You will find that he will talk with his clients with calm confidence and gentle speech.
When he treats problems like depression, anxiety, anger issues and others, he uses a person-centered approach with cognitive behavioral therapy to elicit positive change and wellbeing for his clients. Michael does not stop with these tools. He will also utilize Feminist Theory as well as Psychodynamic approaches for problems that his clients live with. Michael’s theoretical perspectives as well as the techniques that he uses have proven results and his clients experienc great satisfaction as he helps guide them through positive change.
